Attack of the killer mushrooms!

Unassailable logic, yet so completely wrong
As some of you know we had an 'incident' in school last Friday. Ben head-butted one of his classmates. There was blood involved.

I have finally gotten as much of the story as I am going to... apparently Ben and this boy were standing in line in the hallway and they were bugging each other. This boy kept putting his head on Ben's head and that was annoying Ben. So Ben decided that the best way to get this boy to stop was to knock his head backwards into the other boy's head. I asked Ben why he didn't just tell the boy to stop and he said, "I didn't want to get in trouble. We're not allowed to talk in the hallway."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGH!!

Why didn't somebody TELL me about this...
You would think, between my crafts obsession and my obsession for all things Japanese I would have discovered amigurumi earlier... but I just discovered them and I am obsessed. Amigurimi are ridiculously cute stuffed animals or anthropomorphic food, plants, etc. They are usually crocheted. I have been working feverishly on my first amigurumi - a mushroom.
Ok. I know what you are thinking. My mushroom looks more like the result of a bad trip than something cute... but what can you do. Nikki gets to keep this one and I'll try again. I may have to take off those eyes and mouth so he doesn't keep staring at me with an accusatory expression -- "Why did you create me? I am hideous!"

The Tyranny of Laundry
Will someone PLEASE explain to me how 4 people produce SO MUCH LAUNDRY! Every morning I run a load and hang it out to dry. Every afternoon, while Nikki is supposed to be napping I watch anime and fold laundry. Daily. 5 days a week. Plus I take a load of Ian's stuff to the drycleaners.
And dishes. Every evening I run the machine. Every morning I empty it.

With two grown boys still living with us, I also have been wondering about the mounds of laundry that seem to form every day in our home. I think we spend more on laundry detergent, bleach and fabric softener than we do on food!
