Author Signing

Andy Runton (creator of Owly) was every bit as warm, kind, gentle and friendly as his character Owly. He signed 2 of Ben's books by drawing beautiful characters in each of them. He also gave Ben 2 free comic books and a poster. Ben was rather awestruck and quiet. I got Ben an Owly plush doll for his birthday. :-) We had a great time. Everyone at Criminal Records (the record and comic book store) was so nice and so friendly to Ben. They also had a giant cake to celebrate the book signing. It was a great afternoon. Ben was bubbling over with excitement. He raced home and read his new book.


While Ben and I did that, Ian and Nikki went to the Botanical Gardens to meet Santa. Nikki was uncharacteristically shy around Santa. Evenutally he told Santa what he wanted and then rode the train. He was also bubbling over with excitement when he got home.
