Fun in the ER

So... One of my many symptoms is that I have been feeling lightheaded, dizzy, like my heart was racing. This weekend I actually took my pulse while I was picking up dressup clothes -- it was 108. This morning it was 112 while I was making the kids breakfast. I called my doc and she wanted to have me evaluated right away -- so she had me go to the ER. Sigh. I HATE the ER. They make you feel like an idiot for being there...

So they monitored my HR for a while... decided it was a benign tachycardia, called my doc and talked to her, decided to run some more blood tests that were so obscure that the nurse looked at them and had no idea what they were for, and sent me home.

So... for those keeping count at home... I am now at 25 vials of blood drawn in the last month. They seem to be operating under the medieval theory that if they let enough blood I will feel better. Oh, and did I mention that 2 nurses manages to stick the needle through 3 different veins during the ordeal?! Ugh.

I am exhausted. Going to take a nap.

When they bring out the leaches, RUN FOR THE HILLS!

I am on the opposite site of the scale -bring out the leaches (even the Atlantic(formerly monthly) brings them in as one of the new old ideas) - at least the leaches just suck you blood and do not promise any diagnostics or remedies - they are more honest this way.
Stick to the leaches!

Oh, God, not the leeches! Seriously, Katya, poor you! I'm so sorry for all you're going through. I really hope you feel better soon!

John's mom had the heart racing thing... they finally diagnosed her with Grave's disease. She still gets a racing heart every now and then, but it no longer lands her in the ER.
