Oh the drama...

Sorry for the long blog hiatus... while the kids were in Indiana last week visiting Ian's mother, I spent the week trying to get as much sorted and cleaned up as I could. Our house is a mess. Between my low energy levels, the time and effort of homeschooling, and Ian being gone our house was a pit. Everywhere. With the kids gone I could focus ALL of the little energy I have on cleaning and only cleaning. I got my art area, the kids art areas, and the lego area set up. I cleaned out both kids' rooms and started organizing the homeschool area. Phew. It was a mad rush.

The kids had a great week with "Gamma." They went to the movies, did some bowling, visited the kid's museum, explored parks, and travelled to Kentucky to visit their Uncle Jason and Auntie Kari. All in 5 days! Phew. Most importantly they enjoyed the kind of loving spoiling that only grandparents can provide.

Ian and I got a weekend as a couple. It was so strange to have the house to ourselves and have time to finish a conversation or just lay in bed and watch tennis. I was pretty exhausted from pushing too hard the first couple of days so we alternated between Ian moving some stuff around for me and just hanging out and relaxing.

On Sunday Ian and I got up early and drove to Kentucky to pick the kids up (we met Carol half way). The kids were pretty tired and they watched movies for most of the drive back so the trip was pretty easy. Unfortunately the 12 hours sitting in the car destroyed my back; I spent the last hour of the drive biting back tears. A couple of hours on a heating pad has unknotted most of my back... but I am going to have to figure out a more comfortable position for the 15 hour drive we are planning for the end of the month to visit my folks.

This morning the kids are puddles... nothing but tears and drama.

I need you to now come organzie my messy, cluttered house before Tami and the girls arrive on the 17th.

12 hours is a long time sitting in the car. Is there any way you could lie down for part of the trip in the back of the van? Perhaps that would help? Is there anything at Relax The Back made to help with long car trips?

Will you be in CT when Tami and the girls are here?

A little spoiling goes a long way!
You need a new car! That is is the best remedy!

We are going to overlap the first week in August... we had to change when we were coming because of Ben's team practices.

Maybe you and my mom should trade off and tackle each other's clutter.

T and girls are here July 17 - Aug. 11.

Feeling better. Thanks.

My clutter: Now, how could I get rid of my boxes of empty gift boxes. When I need one, I know there is just the right size in the storage under the eaves. I have every sort of ribbon one could want, a big supply of Yankee Candles, Bath & Body Works products, baby clothes bought on sale for gift, etc., etc., etc. I'm sure Tami hopes I'll have purge a lot before I die so she won't have to do it.

P.S. The bright side is that whenever she needs a gift, she knows I'll have something in my store from a baby gift to bath product gift and the appropriate wrapping.

May be we should trade our clutter. My seems much easier than Tina's to get rid off, except for books.
I would not dare to throw away the ribbons and boxes.
