Yarra Valley Wineries: Badger Brook

On our way up to the mountains for our camping trip this weekend, we drove through the scenic Yarra Valley. Just an hour outside Melbourne, it is beautiful wine country.

The hills are dotted with vineyards... some large enough that the wines make it to the states (like Chandon) some tiny like Badger Brook. Despite our camping clothes, we were treated to a warm reception and a friendly, laid back, wine tasting opportunity. We grabbed a bottle of red and a bottle of rose to bring with us...

The rose went down beautifully after an afternoon of panning for gold and playing in the water.

A nice, dry rose may be the perfect camping wine provided you have an icy stream suitable for chilling it...

Never tried Australian Rose. Have to check it out.
I still have the fridge, so I should be OK.

Really pretty picture of the wine with the cut wood. If the tent were not in the background, it would be really pretty framed for a kitchen.
