Saturday in the City with Dad

Saturday was a city adventure day. We found a kangaroo fountain:

Figured out who is heavier:

Hung around a bit:

And finished with a picnic at Victoria park:

Did I mention the free opera?!

The concert started a little late so we only stayed for the first half. We had fantastic seats just a couple of rows back from the stage so we really got to see the performers. They sang arias from Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, Tales of Hoffman, Die Fliedermaus, Cosi fan tutte, and La Traviata. It was a wonderful performance and both boys really enjoyed it.

What a nice day and love the kangaroo statue.

Today on the travel channel, there was a program on Kakadu National Park. What an interesting program. Wish you could have seen it. I shut it off after they had been on the segment about insects and how seriously their bites can affect one as it really grossed me out. The segments on the crocs and kangaroos were so interesting.
