Oh yeah. The roller coaster continues.
Apparently the buyer's realtor didn't tell them we were getting HVAC quotes... so they sent us a formal withdrawl letter (of course their realtor didn't bother to check his voicemail, or email, or call our realtor before sending the letter). So when they heard that we were investigating the HVAC they were confused. So then they spent the day figuring out what to do. And we spent the day trying to figure out if they were really confused or playing games with us. So frustrating.
As of this evening they want to go ahead if we agree to put in a new HVAC. But technically they have already withdrawn their offer. And in the meantime we have started talking with another buyer. ARGH...
Sing along with me:
They're hot then they're cold
They're yes then they're no
They're in then they're out
They're up then they're down
They're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up

Two words - Holy Shit!
So now you'll have to pay for new A/C?
Why, yes. Furnace and AC. And that is only a small part of what they asked for.
Wait, it gets better.
They initially just asked for an HVAC. In their latest response they now specify that they want a high end, high efficiency HVAC system...
What planet do these people live on?! We are offering them $$. They can do whatever the &(*&&$! they want with it.
These people spell troubles to me. They seems to be the kind that will drag you kicking and screaming to the closing date and at the closing will ask for something ridiculous. Say, putting a carpet over your hardwood floors. Just forget about them.

these people sound like bullshitters. just get someone to relabel and put vinyl stickers on your existing hvac, make it written in german so they think it's european and fancy.
or you just tell them go fuck themselves and find another buyer.

I think L is my brother. :-)
So... they pulled out of the deal... because we wouldn't buy them a brand new, Trane or Carrier, high-end, high-efficiency HVAC system... even though the other realtor chipped in and we were offering to pay for 3/4 of the cost.
Good,
I think your are better off without them.

They sound like pain in the ass people so you're better off without them.
Hope Ian saw some good possibilities today with the realtor.
