Cape Ann Whale Watch

We took the boys on Cape Ann Whale Watch. The sky was crystal clear and the sea was calm so it was a perfect morning. The ride out to the preserve is an hour and Ben was getting a little pale and bored towards the end – “Are we ever going to see a whale?”
Soon there were spouts of water off in the distance and the boat raced to get over to the whales. There were 5 whales hanging out together. One of them was a mom and her calf. We spent about 45 minutes following this group – it was amazing. At times the whales were just 10 feet from out boat. They spouted water, came up, and flipped their tails out of the water. It was everything a whale watch was supposed to be. Ben kept racing from one side of the boat to the other to see the whales. Nikki actually stayed still in Ian’s arms watching them. The salt air and wind wore them out… Nikki fell asleep the minute the boat turned to go back.
