I'm becoming my mother...

12:51 AM - Fire Alarm goes off. I sleep on.
12:52 AM - Kids wake up and start crying. I sleep on.
12:53 AM - Dog wakes up and starts howling. I sleep on.
1:01 AM - Husband gets home early from business trip. Walks down driveway to hear kids screaming, dog howling, fire alarm going off.
1:05 AM - Fire truck arrives, complete with flashing lights and sirens. Firemen pound on door. I sleep on.

I slept through ALL of this. All of it. Finally Ian comes into my room and wakes me up. The fireman would have broken down the door if Ian had not come home early.

When I was a child I remember missing the bus and having to SHAKE my mother to get her to wake up. I am becoming my mother. I am so tired I can sleep through a fire alarm, screaming kids, a howling dog, and a fire engine.

Yowsers, I can sure relate about the absolute fatigue to bottom of your very bones... But I still wake up at the slightest, I mean SLIGHTEST, sound... If only we could strike a balance between us!

Sorry I've been so busy lately and haven't written more. I've loved reading your entries and I'm so sorry about Ben's arm--he seems to be taking it in stride, though... And all the pictures with your puppy are so, so sweet. Good for you for getting him. Having him to love has to help with the boys' missing their dad... The kittens are a lot of work, too, but they're worth every bit of it.

That's pretty amazing. You must be either very tired or very trusting. Or both. Or neither. Heck, what do I know? :-)
