Tales from the road

"Well, it was a comedy of errors this morning at the airport. First plane was broken (fire suppression system wasn't functional) so they brought another... second plane was broken (flaps didn't work -- and flaps are something you definitely need)... so they brought a third. This one worked, but by the time they got us loaded the weather in T*** was so bad they had to take on extra fuel to allow us to circle... which meant kicking off a few passengers to free up some weight! So, more delays while they crawled around the luggage area finding the bags of those who got kicked off... then, when we finally got to T***, we had to circle waiting in line. 5 minutes before we had to give up and fly to B*** to get more fuel we finally cleared for landing (turns out it was just rain and low clouds, no snow yet). After that, there were just minor problems, like the guy who walked into a whole line of barrier poles because he wasn't looking... and the guy who held up the entire line because he lost his customs form in the 150 yards between two agents (actually, it was the same guy... and no, it wasn't me!)... and the cabby who kept forgetting the directions and getting off on the wrong exit. I imagine the afternoon is going to be really interesting at this rate."
