Mummifying fish; cursive

We started mummifying our fish. I think I made a mistake when I let Ben pick a fresh sardine. It is kinda stinky. We should have gone with a trout or something. In any case, we packed the thing in natron (2 parts baking soda, 2 parts washing soda, 1 part salt) and put it outside to dry. In about 2 weeks we will have a mummified fish that we can wrap and put in a coffin.

Ben has been really excited about learning cursive and working really hard at it. It is amazing how much neater his handwriting is in cursive than in print.

Try to put some lines across the page - about at the angle you used for you example - it might help Ben a lot to keep right slant to his letters.
His writings looks very nice!

I agree, Olga! I guess you're remembering the type of paper you used in Russia when learning to write; Katya uses it at school to ensure the proper slant.

Yet again, Katya, you wow me! I hope you realize what a phenomenal job you're doing. The fact that Ben talks about still homeschooling next years attests to how much you're inspiring him. This will last his whole life!

It's funny... his handwriting is SO much neater when he writes using dry erase markers on a slippery surface than when he uses a pencil - I have been putting a page protector over the paper and let him write that way.

The lines are a good idea... I should try that!
