Reenacting the Persian Wars

We reenacted the Persian Wars using chips for soldiers and a printed map of Greece. I read aloud from Gombrich and Ben moved the troops on the map. Thanks to Joe and the Authorware conference I knew all about the battle at Marathon so I had fun acting as the Persian king Xerxes: "Spartans! You are outnumbered - lay down your arms!" Ben (acting as Spartan King Leonidas) responded "Come and get them!"

Imagine my surprise when 2 nights later there was a special on Sparta on the History Channel. We really enjoyed watching it!
