Politeness is it's own reward...

... but, occasionally, someone rewards you for it.

The boys spent all day today out on a bike adventure. They biked to Piedmont park and then to Trader Joe's for lunch. Nikki, as usual, picked out sushi. When they went to check out Nikki asked the clerk, "May I please have chopsticks?" When the clerk handed him the chopsticks Nikki said, "Thank you very much." All without any prompting. The clerk was so smitten by my cute son being so polite that he went and got a cloth shopping bag and gave it to Nikki as a present. Awww....

On another note... Why, you ask, have there been no pictures in a week? Because I misplaced my camera. That's why.

Camera in the vegetable bins?

The politeness at the store must have made both you and Ian feel good to know that your parenting on politeness is being put to use.

My mom has a fondness for stashing her wallet in the veg. bins.

Oh well, robbers would not think to look for a wallet in the vegetable bin.

Kudos to both Nikki and YOU two!!! That's really great. We're SO working on that... Mine are so shy in public, not wanting to answer when spoken to, not wanting to talk to strangers... But then they have no qualms about being loud and rather bothersome... UGH!!!!
