Update on Ben

Yesterday was rough. Ben had 104.3 fever and was pretty out of it. He lay on my bed for most of the day listening to books on tape (Alice in Wonderland and The Snow Queen) and drifting in and out of sleep. His fever finally broke around dinner time and he ate a whole can of soup.

This morning Ben woke up as chipper as a cricket. He happily moved around the house getting Nik ready for school... but on the way to school he started to get tired. By the time we got back home he had used up his energy. Now he is sitting on my bed and listening to The Tale of Desperaux...
Incidentally, while looking for more stories for him I discovered Audible Kids... it was great to be able to buy the book and instantly download it onto my ipod for Ben.

Sorry to hear Ben isn't quite well yet.

The DeKalb County Library has lots of eBooks available for download for free. The only drawback is that the DRM means you have to use a computer to listen to them (not an iPod).

Oooh. Great advice. I did not know that... too bad they can't go on an ipod!

If you go into the iTunes Store's podcast section, you can find plenty of stories for free.

Try the Classic Tales podcast. Or some of the Old Time Radio collections.

We subscribe to Candlelight Stories and Storynory. I hadn't heard of Classic Tales or Old Time Radio... time to go look it up!

Poor little guy! Hope tomorrow he's even better.

That would be great if they had things like "The Lone Ranger". I loved that Sat. morning TV show as a kid, along with "Sky King" and "Annie Oakley". Far better than a lot of the junk on TV today.

There is a music program on NPR on Sunday afternoon
Classics for kids
I does sound promising.

We actually record the podcast of classics for kids, too. :-)
