A little joy in an otherwise miserable week...

Last night the boys and I used some of Ian's hotel points to spend the night at a hotel. Since I had to be back at the house first-thing this morning we stayed at the closest hotel -- which happens to be the midtown W. We got upgraded to one of their really nice suites -- a cool 2-room suite with hip crystal chandeliers, leather furniture, cool couches, funky decor, and a giant shower that is bigger than my whole bathroom. The view was spectacular -- we could see all of Piedmont Park from our hotel room and out to Stone Mountain. Nikki loved sitting by the window and looking out...

The boys and I ate like kings at Spice Market... sticky rice wrapped in a banana leaf, fried rice with a poached egg on top, and kumquat chicken. After the chaos that is our house, staying at a calm, beautiful hotel was a much needed respite.
Today I am back at the house juggling various contractors and phone calls to the insurance company, etc.

Familiar with the hotel from booking business trips (but not for me).

Glad that you were upgraded and had a pleasant stay.
