More Snow Pictures

I know this must seem really funny to my friend T who lives in Moscow and my friend K who lives in Michigan... but the snow is big news here. According to the evening news Atlanta got 6"... it looked more like 3-4 where we were... but it was pretty wet and compacted a lot. Here are some more scenes from our winter wonderland...

There were the requisite snowball fights and snowmen...

And little boys coming home soaking wet every 20 minutes... [that's Ben's old coat from Michigan that Nik is wearing. Hurray for LL Bean]

That evening there was a fierce wind and all the snow in the trees came down in huge thundering clumps on the roof. Good thing, too. Otherwise I am sure many branches would have come down.
Overnight it got VERY cold so there was still snow this morning...

By this evening all of the snow was gone; only the snowmen remained. Tomorrow the temperature will go up into the 60's so all vestiges of winter will melt away as we return to our usually scheduled spring weather.

Fun, isn't it? We did have one big tree come down around the corner.

We still have huge, huge patches of white all over the place, I'm really surprised! But, yes, it will all be gone very soon.

It looks unbelievable! And you already had 70 degree weather!
We had a good snowfall also, which is not that unusual for New England in March. What is unusual, is how cold the weather is. Our maple sap keep freezing in the buckets regularly, so we are having hard time making maple syrup.

That's neat but it's too bad that it is warming up so it's gone.

We got quite a bit today.
