We did an experiment last week that was really fun:
- We bought a box of Total and crushed 1 c until it was a really fine powder.
- We put the powder in a ziploc bag and added water.
- Then we used a magnet to slowly draw around the cereal mush -- after a few seconds we could see speckles of iron that had separated from the cereal.
So how does your cereal have 100% of your USRDA of Iron? By adding tiny iron shavings... LOL

Euwwwwwwwww! Iron shavings in our cereal.
How do you find all of your great ideas/experiments?
Extremely cool.
That is very funny!
You are better of grinding an apple and waiting until it turns brown and eating it. As far as I remember, only Fe+3 is readily utilized by our bodies.
I wonder what you can find in all the vitamins and mineral supplements you see in the drug stores.
