Decatur Beach Party

Despite the absolutely ridiculous heat wave we are having (it was still 94 at 6pm) we went to the Decatur Beach Party. It's our favorite Decatur event -- they fill the streets with sand, have live bands, and a wonderful festival atmosphere.
So we played in the sand...

Ate while listening to some wonderful music...

And played some games.

The heat tired us out so we only lasted till 8:30 -- just as it was cooling off enough to be remotely bearable!

I wish we had a half of your heat, not more than that. We had another cold (60) and wet week. The only things plentiful in the garden are slugs. Unfortunately, I have no use for them.

You could try eating them, like the French...

A bowl of beer works great for getting rid of slugs.

I've gone the bowl of beer route before but I have big perennial beds and lots of pots. With all the rain, the beer bowls would be drenched. It's rained and rained and rained here. My geraniums are hurting as a result.
