Mistress Mary, quite contrary...

I got a late start this year on our garden so I only planted our garden A MONTH ago! On 4/29 we planted radish, bean, carrot, and beet seeds, 3 sad little cucumber plants with 2 leaves apiece, and tomato plants that were 5.5" tall. Our radishes are now ready to be picked, our beans have flowered... but the most amazing are the tomatoes and cucumbers which seem to grow before our eyes...

They are both over 3' tall already and flowering. We even have one small cucumber and a couple of green tomatoes.

we've already eaten a few peas (which were awesome) and some radishes, which weren't as good.

I don't know why I always plant radishes... everything you grow in a garden has a stronger taste than the stuff you get at a store... and I don't particularly like radishes.

Unfortunately we were too late to plant peas around here... although it is too hot for peas here as either a spring or fall crop... Peas and tomatoes are my favorite garden crops.

Wow, they took off quickly. Must be the hot weather. They look so healthy. Enjoy.

We are eating salads from our garden from the beginning of the May.
All the radishes are gone now and we start to pick up some peas, just a few.
But my cucumbers (from seeds) still have only 2 leaves. Some tomatoes plants started to bloom so.

Oh, forgot to mention - 2 sunflower seeds Ben brought from Muscoot Farm last summer are growing now! The plants have 4 leaves and about 2" tall. Hope they will survive.
My archenemy -the woodchuck- did not show up yet.
