I checked on the Google maps and found the beaches you were at. Looks like very nice are. How long did it take you to get there?

About 1.5 hours. The drive really wasn't bad at all. I even drove all the way home.

not to frighten you, but i once saw one of these shockumentaries about poisonous creatures, and there is a scary small spotted octopus that lives in tide pools in australia...apparently, it only needs to shoot a small amount of venom into the water to incapacitate you...just be on the look out

The blue-ringed octopus. They actually live here in the bay and there are warning signs about them at all the beaches! We had a long talk with the kids about not reaching into tide pools.
