- Monday: count to 100 by 5's and 10's, alphabetize all 12 spelling words
- Tuesday: count to 100 by 5's and 10's, write two sentences about your family
Monday was tough; Nikki was terribly underfoot while we did homework. Tuesday was better. Nikki went upstair and made this amazing Lego plane while Ben wrote "We like to go camping. We like (to) hike." Ben even managed to figure out how to spell camping and hike!!
Ben has his first spelling test on Friday and there are 12 words on his list; he misspelled all, hook, look, and first on Monday so we have some practising to do.
Meeting Other Moms
I joined the Dectur/Emory/Druid Hills SAHM + Toddler meetup group (OK... I admit... when I joined the group I missed the toddler part of the group title) and we went on a playdate at a park this afternoon.
It was a million degrees out. Ok, it was 98 degrees out. All of the moms who showed up had kids under the age of two. I was beginning to think this had been a bad idea but Ben and Nikki were having a great time playing so I stuck around for a bit. Once all the kids settled down the moms got a chance to sit in a circle and talk. It was fun to meet new people and hang out. A couple of moms (and their DHs who joined us after work) decided to go out for dinner and we joined them. Ben befriended a little, adorable 15 month old by pushing her in the swings at the park. She wanted to sit next to him at dinner and he was really sweet letting her play with his hair and helping her eat noodles. She kept saying, "Want Ben, want Ben." SO cute.
We ended up having a great afternoon and evening. Thanks Elle!
