What I love about my kids...

We stopped by Burger King to pick up lunch because they wanted to try the new apple fries. (Raw apples cut to look like fries). BK screwed up our order, as usual, and we discovered that we got regular fries. The kids were terribly disappointed and didn't eat them. Oh YEAH! They would rather eat apples than fries... or even nothing than fries.

yup, i'd be proud too :-) I'm envious that your kids agree on food choices. Mine don't. Last night Sara ate couscous and bean salad, Irina wouldn't touch it, pizza and chicken nuggets on the other hand is her standard fare.

Good for you for teaching your kids right! Once I went to Burger King, got home with my order and found that my burger was...well, burgerless. Just the bun and usual toppings, but the meat had mysteriously not been included!

Here's a doozy from a few years ago. We had just moved into a townhouse that we had not been told had a roach problem...yuck. One night I got out of bed and went into the kitchen to get a glass of water. There on the counter was a half-eaten donut and a bit of a lettuce leaf. There were two roaches on the counter (yuck) fighting...over the lettuce leaf! They were not interested in the donut. So who's smarter, roaches or humans?

When the kids were little, I took them to Burger King and when we went up the counter, I put on a serious face and told the cashier, "I'd like to see the Burger King please."

The kids' jaws dropped and they waited to see what would happen.

The cashier played along and said, "I'm sorry, the king isn't here right now."

"Oh," I replied, "He must be visiting the Dairy Queen." That got the cashier to laugh and the kids to giggle for the rest of the day!
